Berford Street Reconstruction - Phase II

Starting Wednesday, July 1, 2026, Berford Street will be closed to through traffic between Elm Street and Frank Street for construction.
The closure is expected to remain in place until at least Labour Day.

The road will be open to local traffic and emergency vehicles only. Local traffic is for residents only. Business access will remain available via Frank Street.

Please use the following designated detour routes:

Northbound
D1 - Trucks/RVs via Boat Lake Road
D2 - Cars/Downtown via Elm Street

Southbound
D3 - Trucks/RVs via Bruce Road 13/Jenny Street
D4 - Cars to Highway 6 south via Gould Street
D5 - Cars through Downtown to Highway 6 South

📅Construction is expected to continue from Frank Street to George Street after Labour Day. Additional details and updated traffic information will be shared at a later time.

Construction is set to begin in late June 2026 and is expected to be completed by December 2026.

To help residents and visitors plan ahead, here are a few important details:

• Berford Street from Elm Street to Frank Street is closed and will remain closed until September 2026.
• The Frank Street intersection will remain open to accommodate detour traffic.

• Berford Street from Frank Street to George Street will remain open until September 2026.
• More information about this upcoming closure will be shared as details become available.

🕒 Construction Hours

• Work will typically take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday work may occur when required.

Following the Design Open House held on April 7, we’re sharing the materials that were presented and discussed with attendees. The uploaded documents include the presentation slides and engineering and streetscape drawings, so all community members can access the same information shared at the event.
