BASWR Waste & Recycling Services Review
Bruce Area Solid Waste Recycling (BASWR), together with its member municipalities, is reviewing how waste and recycling services are delivered and governed to help ensure they remain effective, sustainable, and responsive to community needs.
As part of this initiative, BASWR is exploring a new governance model and undertaking a comprehensive business case study to evaluate service delivery, financial considerations, operational best practices, and opportunities for improvement. The study is being supported by municipal staff and external consultants and will help inform future decision-making by participating municipal councils.

Community feedback is an important part of the process. Residents and service users are invited to complete an anonymous survey to share their experiences, priorities, and perspectives on local waste and recycling services. Your input will help identify what is working well, where improvements may be needed, and what matters most to the community.
The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous and will be reported in aggregate form only.
The survey will remain open until Friday, June 5, 2026. We encourage all residents to participate and share their feedback.
Please note: BASWR currently provides recycling collection services in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula. As BASWR also provides curbside garbage collection services in other participating municipalities, waste service questions have been included in the survey to reflect the full range of services offered. Residents are welcome to share feedback on the potential for BASWR waste collection services in South Bruce Peninsula in the future.
Thank you for contributing to this important initiative.
